Stepanek beats Monfils to win Legg Mason (AP)
Unseeded Radek Stepanek of the Czech Republic won his first ATP title in 21/2 years by upsetting top-seeded Gael Monfils of France 6-4, 6-4 at the Legg Mason Tennis Classic on Sunday. The 32-year-old Stepanek is the hard-court tournament's oldest champion since Jimmy Connors was 35 in 1988. Stepanek entered the U.S.
