Mirza aims to return to Top 40 this summer

India?s Sania Mirza admits that she wept after losing the final of the 2010 Commonwealth Games to Anastasia Rodionova.

"I tell you the only time I cried in my career after losing a match was when I lost this final," she told The Hindu.? "Definitely, if I had won the gold in Delhi then it would have been even better, but I lost the final after a really tiring schedule preceding that."

Mirza, who was plagued by wrist injuries from 2008 through much of 2010, has pushed her ranking back up to No. 64 and reached the doubles final of this year's French Open with Elena Vesnina. She reached a career-high singles ranking of No. 27 in 2007. Mirza is scheduled to play in Maryland next week, followed by the tournament in San Diego.

"My first target now ahead of the U.S. hard court season is to break into the Top 40 in women?s singles and then keep improving," she said.
